Rational design in modern biotechnology: from concept to clinic

The course focuses on the development process of biological drugs, from molecular design to clinical application. Topics related to structural biology applied to antibodies, as well as computational molecular design and engineering, will be covered. Tools such as MOE and Schroedinger will be introduced, and the course will explain how to use them to optimize the biophysical properties of a biomolecule for clinical use. Applications of artificial intelligence for generating new molecular designs will also be discussed. Aspects related to a career in the pharmaceutical field will be addressed, with an emphasis on the most sought-after roles and professional profiles at the moment.

The course is taught in english.
